Energy Future Coalition

The Energy Future Coalition joined a diverse group of nearly 200 organizations calling for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee to require electric utilities to invest the equivalent of one third of their carbon allowances in energy efficiency programs. 

According to the group, the adoption of this provision will 

• Generate $100 billion in electric-efficiency investments;
  
• Create more than 900,000 new jobs by 2020 in construction, energy service, building maintenance, and operations; and
  
• Reduce residential, commercial, and industrial energy bills by approximately $300 billion.
