Energy Future Coalition

Making Energy Efficiency a National Priority

Energy efficiency is a golden opportunity for the United States to embark on a new clean path to meeting our energy needs in a way that boosts the economy, creates jobs, and helps the environment at half the cost of building new power plants.

The Energy Future Coalition has assembled a diverse group of influential businesses, labor unions, trade associations, NGOs, utilities, and investors who believe that seizing the national energy efficiency opportunity is the basis of a win-win energy policy. Together the group drafted a statement to the next President that highlights the huge economic benefits of investments in energy efficiency—$100 billion a year by 2025 in energy bill savings alone—and recommends:

  • Creating a national energy efficiency advocate to drive improvements across the economy and government;
  • Prioritizing energy efficiency at the local, state, and federal level;
  • Launching a national training and development program to create the new green workforce; and,
  • Providing incentives to grow the clean energy manufacturing and installation industries here at home.
