The National Clean Energy Project brought together leaders from the Administration, Congress, business, and NGO communities to discuss how to unlock our vast renewable energy resources and deliver the electricity they produce to the parts of the country that need it. Participants included President William Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, T. Boone Pickens, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, John Sweeney of the AFL-CIO, Lee Scott of Wal-Mart, Senator Jeffrey Bingaman, John Podesta of the Center for American Progress and several others.
