Tune in live on Thursday, March 11, at 10:00am EST to see the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources discuss energy efficient building retrofits as a job-creating mechanism. Energy efficient retrofit legislation, including Building STAR, which was recently introduced as S.3079 by Senators Jeff Merkley, Sherrod Brown, Benjamin Cardin, Mark Pryor, Bernie Sanders, and Debbie Stabenow, will be discussed by panelists including, among others, Dr. Paul Parfomak, Specialist in Energy and Infrastructure at the Congressional Resource Service; Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Cathy Zoi; and Jeffrey DeBoer, President and CEO of the Real Estate Roundtable.

Building STAR will create at least 150,000 jobs in the construction and manufacturing sectors, which have been hardest hit by the recent economic collapse, by offering rebates for insulation, windows, roofs, lighting, and heating and cooling equipment. Building STAR will not only create jobs, but it will save Americans money while contributing to U.S. energy independence and a cleaner environment.
