John Anthony is the Communications Director. He brings more than a decade of issue advocacy and media relations experience to his work on climate and energy. Prior to joining the Coalition, Mr. Anthony served as the Deputy Director of Communications for the former National Environmental Trust, now Pew Environment Group. His work centered on international components of addressing global climate change, especially educating journalists on the seminal reports issued by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 2007. Mr. Anthony worked closely with the G8 and UNFCCC frameworks to advance binding emissions reductions proposals, as well as on behalf of a domestic fuel economy campaign which successfully fought for passage of the first increase in gas mileage standards in three decades.
